Well, for me anyway!
About a month ago, I filled out an application to write for the Xtreme section of the August Chronicle--it's sort of like the New York times because the Augusta Chronicle is a rather large region extending from North Georgia to the very bottom of the south of South Carolina.
I got a callback for an interview and only a handful of people actually get callbacks! So, cross your fingers that I get in and get to write for it! This will be a perfect credential for a query letter, and it will put me ahead of the rest of my competition clambering for Barry Goldblatt, Jodi Reamer, and other known literary agents of the modern writing world.
Give me any advice you can think of. They're going to ask me basic questions and I want to make sure to answer them to the best of my ability. And if any of you know what the interviewing process for something of this is like, let me know. My ears are open for suggestions.
